Join the Cued Speech Association of Maine at Camp ILA— that’s Camp for visual language Instruction, Literacy, & Access—at the fully ADA-accessible Pine Tree Camp in Rome, Maine, Friday, October 8, through Monday, October 11.
Camp ILA is the creation of Nicole Dobson, MS, CCC-SLP, InsCert, with the Cued Speech Association of Maine in partnership with CueSign, Inc., CueOn, and Language Matters, Inc.
The camp provides an adults-only camp learning experience for parents with deaf or hard of children and the professionals who work with them. Professionals may include teachers of the deaf, speech-language pathologists, reading specialists, early interventionists, special educators, regular education teachers, ASL-English interpreters, and Cued Language Transliterators.
Attendees will have three learning tracks to choose from: 1) instruction in American Sign Language or Cued American English, 2) an in-depth literacy method course, and 3) training for communication access providers with an ASL interpreting and CLT mentor/mentee program.
