National Spring Board Meeting and Cueing Workshops

The National Cued Speech Association, Spring Board Meeting, will be in New Orleans, LA. In addition to the two-day meeting, the NCSA will offer Special Programming, a Basic Instructor Certification Workshop, an Instructor of Cued Speech National Certification Exam, Cueing for Beginners, Cues on Tap, and more!

While the French Quarter is undoubtedly a highlight of New Orleans, this vibrant city has so much more to offer beyond its famous historic district. From the jazz clubs and art galleries of the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods to the stunning architecture and lush gardens of the Garden District, New Orleans is a city of diverse and colorful communities, each with its own unique character and charm.

Thursday, April 27 – Special Programming

  • 12:00-2:30 pm:
    Topic: Using Cued Speech in an English/ASL Bilingual Program for Deaf Students.
    Presenter: Angela Kuhn is a principal in the elementary and junior/senior high programs at the Illinois School for the Deaf.

  • 3:00 – 5:00 pm:
    Topic: CLEAR for Professionals: How to Support Families who Want to Know More About Cueing.
    Presenter: Hilary Franklin is a native cuer & signer, 1st deaf NCSA-certified Cued Speech instructor. Director of Reps at NCSA teaches & presents at conferences.
