Call for Nominations: 2023-2026 Term

We are looking for passionate volunteers to serve a three-year term on the 2023-2026 Board, which begins September 2023 and concludes August 2026. Board members can be Deaf cuers, parents, and/or professionals working in deafness-related fields. Board members must be U.S. residents age 18 or older.

Board members are required to attend at least four meetings per year (2 in-person meetings held in various locations in the USA, as well as 2 online Board meetings), with possible additional meetings as needed to conduct Board business. Board members are asked to join at least one committee, which may require additional meetings. Most meetings are virtual, held over Zoom.

Board members should be good advocates for the use of Cued American English and other cued languages, or willing to learn how to become effective advocates. An ability to cue fluently is not required, but cueing with fellow Board members during meetings is encouraged.

New Board members with limited advocacy experience will receive leadership and advocacy training in the first month of the term.

For most Board positions, no individual can serve in the same position for more than two consecutive terms unless the Board grants an exemption. Regional Representatives have no term limits. Each region may have up to two representatives and residency within a region is preferred, but not required.

If you would like to nominate yourself or another person for a Board position, please complete the nomination form below.

Nominations for vacant positions must be received by October 1.

Nominees will be contacted and must submit a résumé and statement of candidacy to be considered a candidate. The Board will vote on a slate for the upcoming term either during the next meeting in late April 2023, or during the summer meeting.
